Integrated Microgrid Islanding Detection with Phase Angle Difference for Reduced Nondetection Zone

Microgrids with distributed generation (DG) are rapidly coming into distribution networks to supply load demand in order preserve ecological balance and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Power electronic advancements making renewables dispatchable loads while turning passive active bidirectional power flow. The IEEE-1547-2018 regulations enforced certain standards on microgrids, including the ability detect unintended failures, island microgrid less than 2 seconds, feed connected maintaining voltage, frequency, quality. There numerous islanding techniques accessible, passive, active, hybrid, communication techniques. degrade quality due injection of deviations, type leaves larger nondetection zone (NDZ), costly. hybrid combines both methods. To get away from all these issues, a technique is formulated this paper, which measures differential phase angle voltage current at DG output, islanding. This approach reliably identifies 20 ms nearly zero NDZ. also stable during transient conditions such as switching throwing off. no issue because there injections testing. method tested MATLAB/Simulink evaluated using frequency performance indices accordance UL-1741 testing standards.
